Co-Researcher, D'GEES

B.Sc Computer Science

I am a Computer Scientist, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) specialist, Educator, Web Developer, and Co-Researcher with interdisciplinary experience spanning computer science, geospatial technology, digital education, telecommunications, web development, and applied research and innovation. I hold a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (MGIS), both from the University of Uyo, Uyo, Nigeria, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the National Teachers’ Institute, Kaduna. I am also a certified teacher registered with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) and possess professional training in full-stack web development. I have extensive teaching and training experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, digital literacy, coding, and web development, with practical involvement in training learners across nursery, primary, and secondary education levels. I develop practical learning programmes that introduce learners to digital technologies, programming, problem-solving, and emerging technology skills. My experience in the telecommunications industry has further strengthened my competencies in customer engagement, technical problem-solving, communication, service delivery, technology adoption, and operational support. I am currently contributing as a Co-Researcher to the ongoing AgroSolar Technopreneurship and Innovation Centre (ASTIC) project, a British Council-funded interdisciplinary initiative focused on renewable energy, agricultural technology, digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and capacity development. The project addresses challenges within agricultural value chains, with particular emphasis on the application of solar-powered technologies to agricultural processing and post-harvest management. The initiative seeks to reduce post-harvest losses, improve agricultural drying, processing, preservation and value addition, promote sustainable energy use, and create opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship. My role draws on my background in Computer Science, GIS, web development, education, and digital innovation. I contribute to technology integration, digital skills development, training, project documentation, knowledge sharing, stakeholder engagement, and dissemination of project activities and outcomes. I am particularly interested in the application of digital technologies, geospatial information, data management, and renewable-energy-enabled technologies to support sustainable agriculture and community development. I have also contributed to curriculum and training activities through the development and delivery of practical educational programmes in Computer Science, coding, web development, digital literacy, and technology education. My experience aligns strongly with Digital Skills, Education and Human Capital Development, as well as Sustainable Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship, particularly in applying technology to agricultural value chains, post-harvest management, capacity development, and sustainable community development.
